maine

You know you live in Maine, if...
there is too much stuff in your 2 cah garage to get either of your cars into it
you eat ice cream with flavors like moose tracks and maine black bear
at least once in your life you've said ''it smells like the mill in here''
it's 3 degrees out and you're ordering an iced coffee from Dunks
men's dressing up means wearing a tie with a flannel shirt
people wear shorts and a parka at the same time
you have a front door but no steps to get to it
you call four inches of snow a dusting
Canada is a day trip

You know you live in rural Maine, if...
you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked
you leave your keys in your car and the next morning your car is still there
people you see at the store say hi rather than look the other way
the most powerful political group in town is the fire department
you know several people who have hit a deer more than once
you see people wearing hunting clothes at social events
the best entertainment in town is the kids' ballgame
you see people carrying guns
